Endless Summer: Week 2

Sorry this is late; my weekend basically got cut in half by the amount of sleep my body decided it needs after sleeping badly for the last two weeks. Still, we made good progress on the list 🙂

Go to a baseball game

On Friday, we went to see the local minor-league team play ($9/person for reserved seats and way better parking than major league games). It was a blast; we had great seats, and our team won handily despite having a shitty pitcher (he walked everyone! Come on! Throw a strike once in a while!) I actually paid attention, and it felt like it didn’t take nearly as long as the major league games I recall from my youth. Plus it was an evening game, so it was still warm but not blazingly hot. All in all, a fun experience.

Eat hotdogs

At the ballpark, we bought hot dogs. They were everything I wanted in a hot dog: pleasantly bland, comfortingly warm.

Bonus: See professional fireworks

For friday the 13th, after the game they put on a “zombie fireworks” display. It was basically regular fireworks, but the music was all halloween music — Thriller, Monster Mash, Ghostbusters, et cetera. It was a load of fun.
